The Gibson J-45™ was first introduced in 1942, and guitars from that initial year of production are some of the most highly cherished vintage acoustic guitars in the world. The best-selling Gibson acoustic model of all time, the J-45 quickly earned the moniker "The Workhorse" due to its no-nonsense simplicity, understated elegance, and widespread use on stages and in recording studios worldwide. Now Epiphone, in partnership with Gibson Custom, is proud to introduce the Epiphone 1942 Banner J-45 Reissue, an incredible recreation of the legendary original Workhorse model from 1942. This exceptional acoustic guitar has a thermally aged, solid spruce top that is reinforced with scalloped X-bracing and paired with a solid mahogany back and sides for the rich, balanced tone that has made the J-45 a longtime player favorite. The Gibson SJ-200 ™ was introduced to the world in 1937 and quickly earned the nickname "the King of the Flat-Tops" due to its physical size, high-quality sound, exceptional projection, and undeniable stage presence. While the early models used rosewood, in 1947, the wood used for the sides and back changed to maple. The SJ-200 has been used by everyone from matinee cowboys to folk troubadours, country crooners to rock royalty, and vintage SJ-200 models are in high demand among collectors. Now, Epiphone, in collaboration with Gibson Custom, is proud to introduce the 1957 SJ-200 Reissue, an Inspired by Gibson Custom recreation of the majestic 1957 Super Jumbo model, making it more accessible for today's guitarists to enjoy. The Epiphone 1957 SJ-200 Reissue is packed with vintage-inspired details and features all solid wood construction, including a thermally aged solid Sitka spruce top that is reinforced with scalloped X-bracing, solid figured maple back and sides, multi-ply top and back binding, a two-piece flame maple neck with a walnut stringer, comfortable C profile, and a bound Indian rosewood fretboard with mother-of-pearl graduated Crown inlays and 20 standard frets. The Mora II models using a solid Mahogany top with Mahogany back and sides provides a more brilliant and brighter tone with a generous amount of mids. However, the model produces a rather full tone without being considered "trebly" or "thin". As most acoustic guitars on the market today use a combination of different tone woods, this single species of wood provides a truly unique tone, where the instrument seems to be specially voiced for soloing and finger picking styles, as single notes and phrasing seem to jump out from the instrument. handmade dreadnought guitar, solid spruce & mahogany, Isys+, cutaway, gloss finish, sunburst Richwood Master Series are all handmade acoustic guitars, made of premium selected tonewoods, professionally set-up before packing. Our D-40 guitar is built from the same wood combination as the D-20. The appointments are a bit more luxurious and the sound however is tighter and more focussed due to the gloss lacquer. The effect of satin of gloss lacquer is very clear in this comparison. Where the D-20 is light sounding, the D-40 has more focus and has a high register that has more body. The traditional dreadnought shape is perfect for strumming or any flatpicking techniques. The big body can be driven perfectly with a pick. The sound will have a lot of low-end that carries well. Of course you can play fingerstyle on a dreadnought, but if you play fingerstyle solely, we recommend our A or P models. The solid sitka spruce top and the mahogany sides and back sound lively and light with a more focussed sound than our D-20 guitar. The D-40-CESB has a cutaway to allow for easier access to the higher frets. The installed Fishman Isys+ pickup system will amplify your acoustic sound very naturally. A perfect fit!
